Dean Anderson

Dean Anderson, 68, of Jamestown, ND, passed away at his home Friday, April 20, 2018.

Dean Charles Anderson was born December 7, 1949, in Mandan, ND, the son of Elmer and Velma (Woessner) Anderson. At the age of two, the family moved to Jamestown where Dean attended school and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967. At a young age, he began his dedication to hard work with a paper route. He attended the University of North Dakota until being drafted into the United States Army. Dean served in Alaska and was honorably discharged. Dean and Jackie Readel were married on May 29, 1971 in Jamestown. They lived in Grand Forks and Dean completed college. He worked for White Drug in Jamestown and La Sueur, MN before settling in Jamestown. Dean began his employment with Newman Signs in 1978 in sales, retiring as General Manager ten years ago.

Dean loved to hunt big game, fish, and bird hunting. He would host pheasant hunts at Green Acres and went on many hunting trips. Since he was 10 years old Dean had a golden retriever, most recently Stoli. He also enjoyed playing pinochle, Anderson Rummy, and spending time at the cabin and Florida. Dean is survived by his wife, Jackie Anderson; daughters, Ivy (Rodney) Holm and Jamie (Kevin) Machayya; grandchildren, Olivia, Landon, Elsa, and Ada Holm, and Josie and Gaby Machayya; and sister, Sharon (Bob) Moen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Scott; and sister, LuAnn Greenlund.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Bob Boyar officiating.
