Dean Allen Klose

Dean Allen Klose, 62, Jamestown, ND, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at Sanford West Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Dean was born November 14, 1956 in Jamestown, to Clemens and Marian (Reimers) Klose. He attended St. John’s Academy and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1975. He earned an A.S. degree in Animal Science from NDSU in 1977. After graduation, Dean returned to Jamestown and joined the family dairy farm and farming operation.

Dean had a lifelong love of animals. His joy was working with the livestock and caring for all animals. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others, especially young children. He would take young visitors around the farm allowing them to see and pet the different livestock. His nephews have many fond memories of Dean teaching them to drive the pickup and operate the various equipment.

Dean presently served on the Sydney Township board. He worked many hours doing snow removal and road repair in the township. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors.

Dean is survived by his sisters, Barbara (John) Steinberger, Fullerton, CA and Renee (Wes) Valenta, Montpelier, ND; sister-in-law, Iva Klose, Jamestown; three nephews, Michael and Robert Steinberger, CA and Justin Valenta, Ypsilanti, ND; great nieces, Avery, Isabel, and Juliet; and a great nephew, Jayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Douglas and Keith; and sister, Beverly.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown with Rev. John Aertz officiating.

Visitation : 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Vigil: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
