Deborah Ann ""Debi"" Walz, PTA, CLT-LANA, 44, Williamsburg, Virginia, formerly of Jamestown, North Dakota died of natural causes on July 6, 2006 at her home in Williamsburg.
Debi was born August 23, 1961 in Jamestown the daughter of Ruben and Grace (Schober) Walz. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Jamestown. Debi graduated from Jamestown High School in 1979 and attended Valley City State College where she received an Associate degree in Commercial Graphic Arts in 1981. In 1999 she graduated with honors from John Tyler Community College with a AAS Physical Therapy Assistant degree. Debi was proud to have had the distinction of being one of only 173 therapists throughout North America and one of 10 in Virginia, who earned her Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) certification in 2002. Since January 2002, Debi was employed by Tidewater Physical Therapy, Inc., New Port News & Williamsburg, VA. She cared deeply for the patients she treated and was surrounded by a loving group of friends and co-workers.
She worked at Jamestown Hospital for six years. Her high school activities included marching band and being a trainer for the hockey team. Debi had a strong love for her family and a passion for life. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and cooking. She loved running and raced in several 10K & one half marathons.
Deb is survived by her parents; three brothers, David (Christeen) Walz of Grand Forks, ND, Donald (Amy) Walz, Loveland, CO and Dean (Bridget) Walz of Loveland, CO; two nephews, Benjamin and Andrew Walz, Loveland, CO; one niece, Isabelle Walz, Fort Collins, CO.; a step-niece, Meaghann Harmon, Grand Forks, ND and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chris and Mathilda (Schick) Walz and Herman and Emilia (Nitschke) Schober.
Funeral Service: 2:30 PM, Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel in Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 14, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
