Delbert Delano Sam

Delbert Delano Sam, 69, Jamestown, North Dakota passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Essentia Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.
Delbert Sam was born January 5, 1947, to Harry and Velda (Weckwerth) Sam in Jamestown, North Dakota. Delbert grew up in Medina, North Dakota where he attended and graduated from Medina High School. He served in the U.S. Army and received his honorable discharge. Delbert moved to Jamestown where he worked for the Burlington Santa Fe Railroad for many years. Delbert met and married Lynette Remmick. They were later divorced. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, VFW Post 760, American Legion Auxiliary Post 760 and a past member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Arie #2337. Delbert enjoyed watching baseball, bingo and most of all being with friends.
He is survived by his mother, Velda Sam, Jamestown; sister, Delores Sam, Jamestown; three nieces, Julie Keeler, Nancy Keeler, Marie James and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, brother, sister and niece, Angela James.

Memorial Service: 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Suzy Orlopp, officiating.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery.
