Dennis Stoppleworth

Dennis Stoppleworth, 63, Jamestown, ND, formerly Ypsilanti, ND died at his home on Thursday, September 29, 2005.
Dennis Gardner Stoppleworth was born February 3, 1942 at Spiritwood, ND the son of Theodore and Laura (Hanson) Stoppleworth. He moved with his family to the Woodworth, ND area as a child and attended a country school near Woodworth, ND. Dennis entered the U. S. Navy in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He lived in Spiritwood and Woodworth, ND and worked for area farmers. He married Viona Kramlich on October 16, 1965 in Cleveland, ND. They lived in Woodworth, Ypsilanti and Jamestown during their married life. Besides working for area farmers he also worked for Jamestown Sand and Gravel until retiring in 1979 due to health issues. He was a member of The Basilica of St. James. Dennis enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting, country music, working on vehicles, gardening and enjoyed his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Liza Radtke, Linda Stickel, Susanna (Tena Stickel) Stoppleworth, all Jamestown, Lucille Stoppleworth, Doniphan, Nebraska; 5 sons, Clifford (Becky) Kensal, ND, Roy (Khristal) and Merle, both of Doniphan, Nebraska, Frank, Alexandria, MN and Hank (Krystal), Ypsilanti, ND; 20 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. He is also survived by 6 sisters, Dora (Edgar) Hornung, Juanita (Jerry) Hofmann and Bernice (Dan) Lusby, all of Jamestown, Mary (Dan) Mittleider, Steele, ND, Gloria Koenig, Pingree, ND, and Kathy (Jim) Wegleitner, Fargo, ND; and 2 brothers, Philip (Edith), Medina, ND and Leo of Max, ND, and many special friends.
His parents, 1 daughter Loretta, a son Joseph, 1 brother Milton and a sister Marjorie preceded him in death.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2005 at The Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: Noon to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Monday.
Interment: Spiritwood Cemetery, Spiritwood, ND.
