Dennis William Witt, 72, Jamestown, ND passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer.
Born October 28, 1945 in McClusky, ND to Emil and Ella (Derline) Witt, Dennis graduated Bismarck High School and attended Q&R School of Radiologic Technology, serving in the US Army Reserve from 1963-1971. He worked 36 years in Radiology Management for Avera Health System in Aberdeen and later Jamestown. Following retirement, Dennis continued as an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed antique furniture restoration, playing music, volunteering with the James River Rodeo Association, gardening, and was well known for his canned pickles and avid storytelling. He loved spending time in the outdoors with his dog and horse.
Survived by his wife of 16 years, Christine, two sons, Darren (Gillette, WY) and Kirby (Nikki) Witt (Hermitage, TN), daughter Bethany (Jason) Rozell (Nolensville, TN), step-daughters Lynn (Wade) Lambrecht (Jamestown) and Lori (Tim) Kern (Marietta, GA), grandchildren Trevor and Racine Witt, Grant and Lauren Rozell, Lara and Erika Hermanson, and Keira Lambrecht, sisters, Diane (Sherman) Larson and Darla (Craig) Fleming, brother Darwin (Diane) Witt and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Debbie, Donna, and Darlene.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 12 at Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Randy Brown, officiating. Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 11 at Eddy Funeral Home. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
