Dolores Berg

Dolores Berg went home to her heavenly Father on August 20, 2009 in Valley City, ND.

Dolores Elaine (Nelson) Berg was born September 2nd, 1927 in Roseau, MN to John and Mina (Haugen) Nelson. She attended grade schools in Roseau, MN, Dunseith, ND and graduated from High School in Cando, ND in 1945. In July of 1946, Dolores graduated from the New York Academy Hairdressing Academy in Fargo, ND.

On August 30, 1947, Dolores married Bennette Berg in Devils Lake, ND. They made their home in Cando where Dolores worked as a beautician and Ben worked for Baker Electric. In 1959, they moved to Edgeley, ND where Dolores operated Dolores' Beauty Shop and Ben worked for the REA and later the Bureau of Reclamation. Ben died in 1973.

Dolores entered the Manor St. Joseph at Edgeley in 1986. She entered Sheyenne Care Center at Valley City, ND in 2002.

Dolores was a member of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 46 years. Throughout her life she enjoyed golf and was a former City League Champion; bowling; music and a good game of pinochle.

Dolores is survived by 3 daughters: Randi Kreutsberg, Edgeley, ND; Mindi (Alan) Mathern, Towner, ND and Jill (mark) Foss, Valley City, ND; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Valentine Welder, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Sadie Nelson, Cando, ND; a brother-in-law, Mike (Marie) Berg, Cando, ND and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Efner and Victor Nelson; sisters: Ellen Boehm, Myrtle Jesinouski, Inez Reed, a great-grandson, Brad Anderson, Jr. and a son-in-law Larry Kreutsberg.

Funeral - 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Edgeley, ND

Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND

Interment - Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
