Dolores Roach 87, Jamestown, ND, formerly Kensal, ND died Friday, May 18, 2007 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND
Dolores Bernice Bredahl was born on May 3, 1920 on the family farm near Kensal, ND, the daughter of Albert and Susan (Koenig) Bredahl. She attended school in Kensal and graduated from Kensal High School in 1938. Dolores then attended Valley City Teachers College at Valley City, ND and received her teaching certificate in 1940. After teaching at Woodworth, ND for 2 years she moved to Bremerton, WA where she worked as a telephone operator in the ship yards. She married Jesse Roach at Star of Sea Catholic Church, Bremerton, WA on May 28, 1944. They made Bremerton their home for 1 year and then moved to Los Angelus, CA. She was employed as a substitute teacher in the Los Angelus School District for several years and also worked as a teacher for the Catholic Schools. She later was employed as a teacher in the Montebello, CA schools for 15 years. Dolores received her teaching degree from Whittier College in Whittier, CA. Jesse died On May 24, 1978. She moved back to Jamestown for a short time and worked as a teacher at St. John's Academy before returning to Montebello where she again taught school. She returned to Jamestown in 1996 following her retirement.
Survivors include a sister, Verna Anderson, Jamestown, ND and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Clarice Kulla and a brother, Gordon Bredahl.
Dolores is a member of The Basilica Of St. James and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Kensal, ND.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with Father Steve Meyer officiating.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Interment: St. John's Cemetery, Kensal, ND
