Donald E. Hoyt

Donald E. Hoyt, 80, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, October 25, 2004 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.

Don was born in McHenry, ND on September 18, 1924. He was the only son of Guy and Josephine (Ehlers) Hoyt.

Following his education at Corrine Township school Don remained with his parents and farmed near Courtenay, ND. On December 23, 1946 Don married Marjorie Kamphuis. They moved to Wimbledon in 1963, where they continued to farm until 1972. After retiring from farming Don drove truck with M & M Trucking at Buchanan, ND for several years. Following Marjorie's death in 1989 Don was fortunate enough to meet Mary Fagering Bullis. Don & Mary were married in 1990 and remained on the farm near Wimbledon until 1994 when they moved to Jamestown and have resided there since.

Don's hobbies included woodworking, travel, camping, fishing and playing cards.

Don is survived by his wife, Mary; step-sister, Betty Johnson, Saskatchewan, Canada; two sons, Donald Hoyt, Jr., Lake Park, MN and Bruce Hoyt, Fargo, ND ; one daughter, Lana Hoyt, Marysville, WA, a step-daughter, Jo Bullis, Traverse City, MI, a step-son, Greg (Marsha) Bullis, Watertown, SD, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and his little buddy, Benji.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Marjorie.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, October 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeal Chapel, Jamestown with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 28, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Prairie View Cemetery, Wimbledon, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Eidfjord Lutheran Church, rural Hannaford, ND or donor's choice.
