Donald L. Krueger

December 19, 1925 — July 27, 2004

Donald Lloyd Krueger, 78, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown while battling cancer.

Donald was born December 19, 1925 in Jamestown the youngest of Henry and Esther (Bryne) Krueger's three sons. He spent his childhood in Jamestown and while attending Jamestown High School as as senior, he enlisted in the United States Navy on December 18, 1943 and served until April 18, 1946. He served on the battleship USS Washington, BB56 where he saw action in the Pacific Theater. Don returned to North Dakota where he met Alyce Harr. They were married July 1, 1948 in Jamestown. Don and Alyce raised a family of three boys and were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Don was baptized and confirmed at Trinity. He worked and retired from the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk.

Don was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the local VFW and President of the Stutsman County Memorial Museum.

He enjoyed cards, bowling and especially traveling and camping with the Roaming Buffalo's, a local RV group. Don also enjoyed his time on the greens and fairways of the local golf course.

Don is survived by his wife, Alyce of Jamestown; three sons, Michael Donald (Debra) Krueger, Fargo, David Charles (Brenda Scarphol), Hyattsville, MD and Scott Daniel Krueger, Fargo; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Lois (Kenneth) Shank, Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gerald and a daughter in infancy.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, July 30, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Terry Anderson officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, July 29, 2004 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
