Donald Lindberg

Donald Louis Lindberg passed away November 8, 2005 in Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West, Arizona. He was 88. He had fallen on November 6th and a broken hip required surgery on the 7th. The surgery went well, but Don was weakened from a recent heart condition.

Don was born September 23, 1917 to Carl and Hilda Lindberg in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was one of five children. Older brother, Clifford, twin brother, Douglas, and younger brother, Herbert are all deceased. He is survived by a younger sister, Ollie June Spotts, in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Don graduated from Jamestown High School and attended business school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After a few years in Minnesota, Don returned to Jamestown in 1942 to work for his Dad's small construction business, Lindberg Construction Company. By the late 1950's, in addition to manufacturing red-mix concrete, his company completed some of the early bridge projects on the new I-94 Interstate Highway System. Then, in the 1960's, the company completed electrical transmission line projects in ND, MT, and WY.

Don is survived by his wife, Loretta Lindberg, son Mark Lindberg, Mountain View, CA and daughter, Susan Lindberg, Surprise, AZ. Last December, Don and Loretta celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. In addition to a successful businessman, Don was a member of the Shrine(& Clowns) and for a dozen years was a volunteer fireman. Don was an avid golfer and a private pilot eventually owning several airplanes.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 14, 2005 at 2:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 W. Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Graveside Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, November 18, 2005 at Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
