Donna L Eckart

Donna Eckart, 65, Jamestown, ND formerly of Bowdon, ND passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 with her family by her side, under the care of hospice.

Donna Lou Wright was born January 21, 1953 in New Rockford, ND to Keith and Margie (Gross) Wright. She grew up on the farm north of Grace City, ND, hauling bales, driving tractor and helping with cattle.

She graduated from Grace City High School in 1971. While in high school she participated in track and was a cheerleader. Donna attended Town and Country Beauty College in Jamestown, ND. She married Buster Eckart on October 27, 1972 in McHenry, ND. They made their home in Bowdon, where Donna worked at Golden Acres Manor for a while and at the Bowdon Locker Plant. Donna and Buster were blessed with two daughters, Heather and Shandi. After moving to Jamestown Donna worked at Building Blocks Daycare until her retirement in 2013. She took care of many children in her years there, and they all had a special place in her heart.

Family was #1 for Donna. Whether it was a school event, sporting event, or a get together, she was always one to be there. During retirement she truly enjoyed being a “full time grandma” and being able to bake or canning all day long. Her cookies and goodies were enjoyed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years Buster; her daughters, Heather (Ron) Manson, Shandi (Jeremy) Puhr; six grandchildren, Justin, Jada, Josie Manson, Caleb, Cade & Kinley Puhr; her parents, Keith and Margie Wright; sisters, Gloria (Steve) Wipperling, Carol (Mike) Sherman, Marlene (Colin) Hoffart, Kaye (Keith) Keierleber; her mother-in-law, Jackie Eckart; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwight (Carol) Eckart, Vicki Treitline, Candace (Steve) Kahl, Gary (Terrie) Eckart, Michael (Lisa) Eckart, Chris (Heidi) Eckart and many nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her grandparents, father-in-law Orville Eckart and brother-in-law Willard Treitline.

The family would like to thank JRMC Hospice for their amazing care. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials to JRMC Hospice.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Kristi Weber officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
