Dorothy Knudsen

Dorothy V. Knudsen, 83, Jamestown, N.D. died Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, N.D.

Dorothy Seaman was born January 24, 1919 in Jamestown, N.D., the daughter of Sydney ""Bert"" and Ethel (Smith) Seaman. She grew up and attended school in Jamestown, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1937. She attended Business School in Jamestown graduating in 1939. She started working for Illinois Bell in 1942 and was transferred to Northwest Bell in Jamestown in 1943.

She married Thorwald Knudsen on December 16, 1949 in Jamestown, N.D. where they continued to make their home. Dorothy retired from Northwest Bell in 1972.

Thorwald died on January 12, 1986.

Dorothy is survived by a sister-in-law, Winifred Seaman, of Council Bluff, IA; three stepdaughters; eleven step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers (Robert and George).

Memorial Service: 10:00 A.M. - Saturday, September 21, 2002 at Kingdom Hall, in Jamestown, N.D., with Cameron Talbert officiating.
