Dorothy Ordal

Dorothy Ordal, 75, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, September 13, 2008 at her home.

Dorothy Matchinsky was born May 22, 1933 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Richard ""Dick"" and Anna (Johnson) Matchinsky. She grew up and attended school in Fergus Falls, graduating in 1951. Dorothy married Loren Ordal on December 10, 1955 in Fergus Falls. They moved to Jamestown in 1960, then to Oakes, ND in 1963 returning to Jamestown in 1966, where her home has been since. Loren died January 25, 2000.

Dorothy was an active member of First Baptist Church in Jamestown, serving as the organist and pianist for many years. She was also a member of many church committees and groups, including Christian Women's Club and J-Notes.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Dann Ordal, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Russell Matchinsky; and one sister, Joyce Westover.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Wayne Bangs officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial at a later date at Sverdrup Cemetery, Underwood, Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jamestown Hospital Hospice or First Baptist Church, Jamestown.
