Douglas A. Kaiser, 66, of Buchanan, ND died at home after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends on September, 16, 2010.
Doug was born on May 26, 1944, in Jamestown, to Louis and Audrey (Klose) Kaiser. He attended a country school near the family farm. He graduated from Buchanan High School. He married Patricia J. ""Pat"" George on March 30, 1968. Doug served in the National Guard for six years.
He worked at Grain Inspection, Inc. for 42 years, some of which he was manager. He also worked and enjoyed living on the family farm. He was proud and honored to be elected County Commissioner for two terms.
He was member of the St. James Basilica Catholic Church, Jamestown. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Special Deputies Association of Stutsman County.
Doug loved the outdoors, to hunt, fish, raise paint horses and buffalo. He enjoyed being around his family and friends.
Doug will be missed by his favorite pets, Beavis and Lucky.
Doug is survived by wife Pat, Buchanan; two sons, Shane (Amy), Rigby, ID, and Chad (Amber) and two grandchildren Cruz and Mia, Jamestown; mother, Audrey, Jamestown; brothers, Bob (Jerilyn), Jim (Wendy), both of Jamestown; sisters Pat (Jerry) Scholz and Kathy (Jerry) Hastings both of Jamestown, Theresa (Ron) Risner, Alzada, Ohio, Jan (Leo), Neva, Marshalltown, IA, and Judy (Floyd) Kaiser, Tucson, AZ, sisters-in law, Norma and Donna, both of Jamestown, Vicki (Tom) Pushcar, Prior Lake,MN, brother-in law, Morris George, Kulm, ND, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis, and two brothers Tom and John ""Jack"".
Doug will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
