Douglas Lynn Beckman was born October 21, 1958 at Jamestown Hospital to Harold and Sophia (Schuler) Beckman of Ypsilanti, North Dakota.
Doug passed away Tuesday, October 25 after a 17 year battle with cancer. He was at home surrounded by his family under hospice care.
Doug received his elementary education in Ypsilanti and graduated from JHS in 1976. Doug farmed since childhood with his dad, brother and son. He was also a rural mail carrier for over 25 years. He married Margaret Morris on September 26, 1992 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Doug was a life long member of the Eagles Club, an avid hunter and baseball card collector. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Pheasants for the Future. He played legion and amateur baseball winning the legion state title in 1975. Doug played slow pitch softball for many years. He was a loyal Twins and Vikings fan. He also coached his daughter and son's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Beckman; children, Alicia Beckman, Hunter Beckman, all of Jamestown; brother, Gary (Connie) Beckman, Jamestown; two sisters, Cheryl (Gary) Anderson, Jamestown, Bonnie Bartsch, Fergus Falls, MN; nephew, Troy Anderson, Jamestown; cat, "Skipper" and dog, "Cole"; mother-in-law, Jennifer Morris, Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Harold "Punky", father-in-law, Arthur (Pat) Morris.

Funeral service: 11:00 AM, Friday, October 28 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Kristi Weber, officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, October 27 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Burial: James Valley Cemetery, Ypsilanti, North Dakota

Memorials preferred to J.R.M.C. Hospice.
