Drougott Ross, 93, of Wishek, ND, formerly of Medina, ND, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.
Drougott Ross was born in Stutsman County, ND, the son of Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Joachim) Ross. He was a long-time resident of Medina, ND and a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Army in both the North African and European Theater. Drougott worked for the North Dakota Highway Dept. for 37 years, before retiring at the age of 67. During retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, golf, and bowling.
Drougott is survived by his daughters, Linda (Laren) Meadows, Dickinson, ND and Barbara (Gary) Bledsoe, Papillion, NE; 4 grandchildren, Nathan (Alison) Meadows, Denver, CO, Marisa Meadows, Chicago, IL, Ross (Melissa) Grooters, Pleasant Hill, IA, Martin Bledsoe, Papillion, NE; one great granddaughter, Aurora Grooters; one step-son, Steven Suko, Jamestown, ND; two step-grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Deutscher, Hildegard Brost, Emma Bogus, and Florence Eissinger; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma Kuti Ross, whom he met and married while serving in the military in Omaha, NE; his second wife, Esther Ross; one brother, Paul; and two sisters, Alma and Ruth.
Funeral Service: 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Zion United Church of Christ, Medina, ND with Pastor Vernon Bader officiating.
No Visitation is scheduled.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.
