Duane K Nordlum

Duane K. Nordlum was born May 25th 1953 in Crookston MN, to Elaine and Kermitt Nordlum. He passed away to heaven unexpectedly August 6th 2020, we know he was greeted by the angels because he was one of the best here on earth.
Duane was a salesperson through and through, He started at a young age working at his Mom and Dad’s implement Case IH in Crookston and later transferred to the Jamestown implement. He then joined Cell one as a traveling salesman, and then later as the front salesperson for Cell one. After retirement, he could not stay home for too long and started working part time at Dakota Rental Store, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Duane was also an avid hunter and fisherman, his parents owned a cabin in the Lake of the Woods MN, where he grew up learning to love outdoor activities. He could be found on Sundays watching his favorite football team the Vikings, and in the summer cheering on the Minnesota twins. However, his favorite role in life was that of being a Father and Grandfather, and he was the best. He was the biggest fan in the stands, always scoping out the competition and stating that “oh ya, they can beat this team”. He loved spending time with family, whether it was camping, fishing or hunting or just getting together, family gatherings will not be the same without his big belly laugh. Duane found the love of his life with his Wife Sue and together they shared 25 years together and made many lasting memories. Duane was an amazing cook and loved sharing his new recipes with the family. He and his father-in-law had their special nights of watching Gold rush and wicked tuna together, rumor has it there was some betting going on with who could guess the right amount for the sales.
Duane was proceeded in death by his parents, Elaine and Kermitt, his sister Nancy Johnson and his Mother-in-law Clarice Schmoker.
Duane will be sorely missed by his survivor’s, his Wife Susan Nordlum. His children; Christa (Mary) Nordlum, New Brighton MN. Laura Tenney, Bemidji MN, Anna (Mike) Nordlum, Springfield MN, Eric (Monica) Nordlum, Bemidji MN, and Amber (Ben) Backstrom, Jamestown ND. Grandchildren, Cullen, Madison, Brendon, and Carson Nordlum. Mckenzie and Jade Tenney. Isabelle, Abigail, Sophia and Chloe Backstrom. Brothers, Clark (Alice) Nordlum, Craig (Laura) Nordlum, Dennis (Mary) Nordlum. His father in law Clifford Schmoker , along with many nieces, nephews, Brothers and Sister-in-laws and all those who loved him. We will forever miss you Duane.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 10, 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home.
