Dusty Thoreson

February 18, 1941 — March 11, 2024

Delores “Dusty” Thoreson, 83, Jamestown, ND, passed away Monday late morning, March 11, 2024 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center under hospice care.

Dusty was born February 18, 1941, at Ralph, SD, the daughter of Herbert and Rose (Holt) Kvanvig.  She attended school through the 8th grade and earned her GED.  Dusty attended Hub City Bible College, Aberdeen, SD and Valley City State University.  She was united in marriage to Larry Thoreson on November 26, 1977 at Valley City.  They farmed at rural Kathryn for a short time before moving to Valley City.  They operated the Valley City Hotel for several years and Dusty sold Avon products.  She was an avid collector and loved antique shops and flea markets.  After they sold the hotel, they moved to Custer, SD where they made their home for 8 years, and then moved to Jamestown.

Dusty is survived by her husband, Larry Thoreson, Jamestown; daughter, Anna Sherlock, Jamestown; son, Brad Thoreson, Lynn Haven, FL; three grandchildren, Justin Sherlock, Hunter (Quinten) Scott and great-grandchild, J.J. Scott, and Seth Sherlock; brothers, Keith (Sharon) Kvanvig and Kenny Kvanvig, both rural Hettinger, ND and Pete (Myra) Kvanvig, Stockton, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Anna Kvanvig; son-in-law, Jarrod Sherlock; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Memorial Service - 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial – Nordheim Cemetery, rural Kathryn, ND.
