Dwight Parrish

Dwight Parrish, 66, Lexington, TX, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died suddenly Thursday, September 18, 2008 in Lexington, TX.
Dwight Edward Parrish was born May 24, 1942 in Salem, IL, the son of Ralph and Ethel (Brown) Parrish. He was raised and attended school in Salem. On August 1, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Purcell at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem. Dwight worked at several different jobs and eventually went to work in the oil industry for Dome Petroleum. He managed Dome Pipeline Corporation in Jamestown, ND for several years. After retiring from Dome, he worked as a pipe line inspector in many locations.
Dwight's family was the most important thing in his life. He loved his family and was the spiritual godparent to his grandchildren. His faith was the cornerstone of his life. Church and prayer were very important to him. He enjoyed attending Mass and praying the Rosary. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was looking forward to his retirement on October 4th of this year. Dwight loved to work, to plan, and to do things right. He was excited to be planning a ranch in Texas and enjoyed traveling and woodworking. He will be remembered as a very loving, caring man; someone you could always talk to. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three sons, Chris; Shane (Maria); Flint (Lisa); four grandchildren: Edward; Taylor; Makenzie and Elisa; two sisters: Frances Witges, Illinois; Nola (Bill) Petersen, Salem, IL; two brothers: Richard (Kathy) Parrish, Salem, IL and Darrell (Susan) Parrish, Ft. Myers, FL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
