Earl L. Beckman

Earl L. Beckman, 62, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, June 24, 2007 of natural causes at his home.

Earl was born on December 21, 1944 in Jamestown, the son of Herman F. and Clara (Domek) Beckman. He attended Corwin and Ypsilanti schools, graduating from 8th grade at Ypsi. He attended Jametown High School and graduated in 1962. Earl continued his education at North Dakota State University graduating in 1967 with a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. On May 29, 1971 Earl married Peg Schulz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown. He was a pharmacist at White Drug Enterprises in Dickinson and Jamestown and later at Walz Pharmacy in Jamestown.

Earl was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown where he served on many different committees. He was a charter member and past president of the Buffalo City Lions Club; a member of the Elks, the Eagles, Dance club, past president of the NDPHA 7th District and secretary of the District 12 Republican party.

Earl is survived by his wife, Peg, of Jamestown; two daughters, Joan Beckman and her husband, Matt Larson, St. Paul, MN and Karen Beckman, Minneapolis, MN; one brother, Harold (Sophia) Beckman, Ypsilanti, ND; two sisters, Lucile (James) Riden, Valley City, ND and Donna (Neil ""Tex"") Weatherly, Jamestown; 20 beloved nieces and nephews and 8 beloved great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Laveril and Ervin Frey.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Rich Fitzer officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Burial at a later date: Ypsilanti Cemetery, Ypsilanti, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church building fund, the Ypsilanti Cemetery fund, Relay for Life or a charity of the donor's choice.
