Edmund Klinkhammer, 77, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, February 15, 2007 at SCCI Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Edmund Joseph Klinkhammer was born January 31, 1930 at Cogswell, ND, the son of Herman and Anna (Hayen) Klinkhammer. He was raised and attended school in Cogswell. In 1951, he entered the United States Army and served for 11 months on the front lines during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge, he returned to Cogswell where he farmed. He moved to Valley City, ND in 1960 and worked at Sheppard Furniture and managed the Valley City Municipal Tourist Park. In 1976, he moved to Jamestown, ND where he worked for many years as a desk clerk at the Tumbleweed Motel and for the Easter Seals Foundation. He also worked for the Senior Companion Program. In 2005, he moved to the Four Seasons Assisted Living Center in Moorhead, MN.
Edmund was a member of The Basilica Of St. James. He enjoyed reading, traveling and the farm.
Survivors include 3 sisters: Ethel Klinkhammer, Cogswell, ND; Lila (William) Harmsen, Valley City, ND and Mary McClure, West Fargo, ND; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd.
Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Forman, ND.
Rosary - 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Forman, ND.
Visitation - Noon to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 and 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Forman, ND.
Interment - Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cogswell, ND
