Edward Gomke

Edward Gomke, 83, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Ave Maria Nursing Home, Jamestown.

Edward Gomke was born January 8, 1924, at Gackle, ND, the son of John and Mary (Stickel) Gomke. He worked on his parents farm until 1952, when he married Amanda Mueller Trautman. They made their home in Jamestown. Her worked for Midwest Machine Company, John Deere, and Melland's Implement from which he retired from in 1986. Edward worked part-time for Jamestown Country Club and the Stutsman County Fairgrounds after retirement. He was a life member of the Jamestown Eagles club.

Edward is survived by his wife, Amanda Gomke, Jamestown; one son, Douglas Gomke, Fargo, ND; four daughters, Brenda Norquist, Eagle, NE, Stephanie Gomke, Boca Raton, FL, Carol Wateland and Linda Wagenmann, both of Fargo, ND; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Jack, and William; and one sister, Elsie Suko.

Funeral Service: 1:00PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating.

Visitation: 1:00PM - 8:00PM, Monday, May 12, 2008 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
