Edward Zimmerman, 80, of Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Edward Zimmerman was born July 25, 1926 in Napoleon, ND, the son of Carl and Marie (Sukut) Zimmerman. He attended country school in the Napoleon area and later served in the Korean War from December 1950 to September 1952. Edward married Viona Mittleider on October 3, 1953. They lived on a farm south of Tappen, ND until 1966, when they moved to Jamestown. He worked for the North Dakota State Hospital until his retirement in 1991. Edward also worked part-time for Sukut Construction until 1995. Edward loved working in the yard caring for his trees. He also enjoyed reading.
Edward was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown.
Edward is survived by his wife, Viona, Jamestown; three daughters, Sylvia (Ron) Martin, Pettibone, ND, Kathy (Bob) Mueller, Lincoln, NE, and Laura, Fargo; one son, Jerome (Lynn) Zimmerman, Spiritwood, ND; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Isador (Evelyn) Zimmerman, Bismarck, ND; and three sisters, Edna Backhaus, Bismarck, Betty Deane and Alma (George) McCollough, both of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Rueben, Gay, Walter, and Alvin; and one sister, Ruth Rau.
Funeral Service: 10:30AM, Thursday, November 30, 2006 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Gary Ball-Killbourne officiating.
Visitation: 9:00AM to 8:00PM, Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
