Edwin Boschee, 84, Jamestown died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at the Jamestown Hospital. Edwin was born January 18, 1919 in Wishek, North Dakota, the son of John & Magdalena (Goebel) Boschee. He received his education in rural Wishek schools. He entered the United States Army March 28, 1941, where he served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater, he was discharged from Camp McCoy, WI, on December 3, 1945.
Edwin at one time had served under General George S. Patton, he received the American Theater Service Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon, Two Overseas Service Bars, and a Good Conduct Medal. Edwin and LuElla Becker were married, June 19, 1949 at his family's farm home in Lehr, North Dakota. They moved to Jamestown in 1955, and later resided in Lehr, LaMoure and Kirkland, WA, communities. They moved back to Jamestown in 1962, where he was employed at Newman Signs Company for 25 years as a welder.
Edwin was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, where he served as deacon, Jamestown Eagles, and American Legion Post 14.
He enjoyed playing cards, and woodworking as a hobby.
Edwin is survived by his wife, LuElla, two daughters, Sandra (Gerald) Bishop, Issaquah, WA, Roxann (Steven) Ree, Rice, MN. Two grandchildren, Danielle and MacKenzie Ree,
one brother, Gideon Boschee, Wishek, ND, five sisters, Irene Kautz, Wishek, ND, Alma Decker, Miles City, MT, Edna (Walter) Perleberg, Jamestown, Alleen (Mike) Buetow, Jamestown, Lorraine (Wilbur) Wahl, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Service: 2:30 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2003 at United Presbyterian Chruch with Rev. David Thompson officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Friday, February 28, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND (Monday, March 3, 2003 at 10:00 AM)
Family prefers memorials to: United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown or North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
