Edwin Nagel, 95, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Edwin was born February 17, 1914 in Lehr, North Dakota, the son of Jacob and Caroline (Bittner) Nagel. He grew up in Lehr and attended school there. On November 14, 1935 Edwin married Amelia Boschee in Lehr. They farmed in the Lehr area until they moved to California in 1956. They later returned to Jamestown and Edwin worked for 27 years at Jamestown College, retiring in 1982. He was active at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where he was a member. In 1996 the couple moved to Rochester, MN where they lived until returning to Jamestown in 2007. Edwin enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Edwin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donavon and Karen Nagel, Lake City, MN; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters, Kathleen, in infancy and Connie Schuler; parents; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2009 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Chaplain David Fisher officiating.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota
