Edwin Stickel Sr.

Edwin Stickel, Sr., 76, Jamestown, died Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.

Edwin Stickel was born December 9, 1928 in Sidney, North Dakota to Chris & Rose (Ruff) Stickel. He received his education at Sidney and Windsor schools. Ed married Marlene Scholz in 1950 at Jamestown. He entered the US Army in 1951 and was discharged in 1953. They lived in Jamestown since where he worked for Melland's for several years. Ed later worked on his own for about eight years, then for Snow's Appliance and Lifestyle Appliance until retirement.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and grandkids.

Ed was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and life member of the Eagle's Aerie#2337 both Jamestown.

Ed is survived by his wife, Marlene Stickel, Jamestown; one daughter, Tena Stickel (Susie Stoppleworth) of Jamestown; one son, Edwin Stickel, Jr. of Jamestown; three grandchildren, James, Kaycee, and Allison Stickel of Jamestown; two brothers, Melvin Stickel of Valley City, ND and Chris ""Bud"" Stickel of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Nora Schielke of Jamestown; and all special caregivers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Mariann Stickel; three brothers, Jackie, Aleden, and Jake; one sister, Verna; and his grandparents.

Funeral Service: 10:00AM, Thursday, July 21, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 1:00PM to 8:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
