Eileen Gusaas, 88, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Marion, ND, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Eileen Foy was born August 29, 1923 at Nortonville, ND, to Homer and Clara (Green) Foy. She graduated from Nortonville High School in 1944. On October 3, 1948 Eileen married Harry Gusaas. The couple moved to their farm northwest of Marion in Meadow Lake Township and farmed for 37 years.
In 1976 they built a new home in Marion where they lived for 21 years, before moving to Jamestown in 1997. Eileen was an active member of the Marion Lutheran Church Ladies Aid for many years.
Upon retiring from farming they enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Texas. Their last trip was on their 80th birthdays with going on an Alaskan cruise. Eileen enjoyed bowling, golfing, crocheting, playing cards and doing word puzzles.
Eileen loved her kids dearly and lived for her family. She always cherished family get togethers. She was a gem, one of a kind and precious. She will be greatly missed.
Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Harry, Jamestown; daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Fuchs, Jamestown; daughters-in-law, Sharlene Gusaas, Bismarck, ND and Joletta Gusaas, Ellendale, ND; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mattie Brandt, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Dale, Jerry and Jim; one grandson, Jared; parents; and one brother, Edgar.
