Eileen Koenig, 79, Woodworth, North Dakota was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, North Dakota with her family at her side.
Eileen Hust was born November 11, 1925, south of Woodworth the daughter of George and Rose (Moser) Hust. She grew up in the Woodworth area and married Paul Koenig May 12, 1944 in Woodworth. They lived on a farm northeast of Woodworth where Eileen was involved with farm life. She worked as a cook and waitress at the Jamestown Livestock Sales barn for a number of years. In 1973 they moved into Woodworth.
Eileen was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, LWML. Eagles, Elks and the American Legion Auxiliary. She baked and cooked many delicious meals and passed on recipes to the generations. Eileen also enjoyed gambling and playing cards. She made everyone feel welcome in her home.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul of Woodworth; one son, Jerome (Gladys) Koenig, Woodworth; three daughters, Sandra (James) Morlock, Pettibone, ND, Dorothy (Arthur) Mariner and Kathy (Scott) Hochhalter, both of Bismarck, ND; one sister, Elsie Koenig, Woodworth; one brother, Edwin Hust, Jamestown; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lydia Lang and Eda Struxness and four brothers, August, Ted, Adam, Reuben and a half-brother, Harry Krenz.
Memorial Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND with Rev. Mark Schlamann officiating.
No visitation is scheduled.
Burial: Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, North Dakota at a later date.
