Eileen Mattern

Eileen Mattern, 90, Billings, Montana, formerly of Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Liggett Cottage on the Campus of St. John's Lutheran Home in Billings.

Eileen was born March 27, 1917 in Jamestown, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Duchscher) Mattern. She attended grade school and high school at St. John's Academy. After graduating she attended a local business college. Her working years were spent as a bookkeeper, retiring from Midwest Motor Express in 1982.

Eileen had been a lifelong member of St. James Basilica in Jamestown.

In 2001 she moved to Billings to be closer to her niece, Betty Hagen. She was a very special aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death in death by her parents and three sisters, Madeline Bellows, Eva McCormick and Agnes Westman.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Friday, March 14, 2008 at the St. James Basilica with Father Al Bitz officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
