Eileen M. Posey

Eileen M. Posey, 91, Pingree, N.D. died Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, N.D.

Eileen Peterson was born September 11, 1910 at Hettinger, N.D., the daughter of Ole and Nina (Beach) Peterson. Eileen attended grade school in a country school in Courtenay, N.D. She graduated from Pingree High School in 1927. She continued her education at Valley City Normal School in Valley City, N.D. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Jamestown College, Jamestown N.D. She received a Masters Degree from N.D.S.U., in Fargo, N.D.

Eileen worked in the education field for 45 years. She was superintendent, teacher, and librarian. No children of her own but hundred of children of Courtney, Melville, Edmunds, and Buchanan looked to her for guidance and speak of her with respect and admiration.

Eileen married Lawson Posey November 7, 1942. They bought a farm ""Green Hill Farms"" on Highway 281 and have lived there since. Lawson preceded her in death in 1994.

She was a member of the Pingree Congregational Church. She conducted the choir for Easter and Christmas Contatas. She was co-chairman of the Pingree Bicentennial Planning Committee and the Centennial Pageant. She was active in the Historical Society of Pingree, N.D. She had an interest in political activities.

Eileen is survived by a sister, Wilma Peterson Lynn, of Tigard, OR; a nephew, Randy Lynn, of Pingree, N.D.; a niece Sherry Loar, of Aloha, OR; a grand-nephew, Tyler Lynn, of Pingree, N.D.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Walicski, of Jamestown, N.D.; Dolly Foolitt, of Carrington, N.D. and a brother-in-law, Richard Posey, of Carrington, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Perry Peterson.

Funeral Service: 10:00 A.M. - Friday, September 6, 2002 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, N.D., with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: Thursday, September 5, 2002 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.

Burial: Pingree Cemetery - Pingree, N.D.
