Elden Woodward

Elden C. Woodward, 52, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Jamestown Hospital.

Elden was born July 18, 1957 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Clarence and Anna (Martin) Woodward. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1975. He entered the US Army the summer of 1975 and was stationed for three years at Ft. Hood, Texas as a tank mechanic in the 2nd Armored Division. After active duty he was a member of the ND National Guard. Upon his return to North Dakota he worked at the Walt Sanders Chevy Garage in Jamestown. He moved to Bismarck and worked at the Sears automotive store. In 1982 he returned to Jamestown and worked for 25 years at WedgCor as a machine operator. He worked at the recycling center for about a year before moving to Lisbon, ND, where he resided at the ND Veterans Home.

Elden liked tinkering with motors, stock car racing, watching car shows on television and he especially loved his grandkids.

Elden is survived by a son, Ben (Vayle) Woodward, Aberdeen, SD; daughter, April (Joshua) Zieroth, Aberdeen, SD; seven grandchildren, Logan, Hailea, Avery, Julian, Alexa, Alek and Journey; parents, Clarence and Anna Woodward, Jamestown; one sister, Pat (Harley) Eidsness, Brocket, ND; one brother, Loren (Rita) Woodward, Bismarck, ND; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Allen, and his grandparents.
