Eldon George Baker, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.
Eldon was born April 12, 1926 in Jamestown, the son of George and Irma (Albrecht) Baker. The family moved to west of Buchanan, Sharlow township, Lenten township and Woodbury townships. He attended country schools and graduated from Eldridge High School in 1944. He lived at home and farmed until he married Lois Schrade in 1949. They lived in Jamestown where he worked for Equity Creamery, Bush and Polar Propane Gas Company and for Bob Ibes, Sr.
Eldon was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and served on the council in various positions. He was a member of the Jamestown Classic Car Club. He enjoyed farming, collecting engines and visiting with family and friends.
Eldon is survived by his wife, Lois, Jamestown; four sons, Dana, Neil (Judi) and Lowell (Jacci), all of Jamestown and Gaylon (Barb), Dickinson, ND; 12 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell (Jean) Baker, Jamestown; four sisters, Marcella (Everett) Murch, Carol Hillstrom and Laurie (James) Hamm, all of Jamestown and Ethel Anderson, Cedar Rapids, IA; and son-in-law, Cory Heidinger, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lynn Heidinger, one brother, Roy Baker; one sister, Erdeen Quamme; and brother-in-law, Carl Hillstrom.
