Elizabeth Fettig

Elizabeth "Betty" Marion Fettig, 86, Jamestown, ND died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Elizabeth Eisenzimmer was born April 25, 1927 in Balta, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Hoffart) Eisenzimmer. Betty grew up and attended school in Balta. She married Edmund A. Fettig, November 6, 1947, in Balta, ND. They lived for a short time in Harvey, ND, Detroit, MI, Elmer, ND and then settled in Fargo for many years. They later moved to Lake Ida, MN and then Jamestown, ND. Betty worked side by side with Edmund as bookkeeper for Janitor Service, Small Grocery Store, Gas Station, Marine Shop and Wood Working Business. Betty's favorite thing in life was spending time with family. She loved making quilts, embroidering dish towels, crocheting doilies for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These are the gifts of love she leaves all of us. We are blessed that our homes are filled with her hand made talents. Betty's passion for the great outdoors was sightseeing and bird watching. She loved going for drives in the country and at the lakes and sitting by the window watching the birds. She also enjoyed puzzles and camping. Betty was a member of Basilica of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed her role in the Women's Circle.

She is survived by her seven children, Judy (Ken) Anderson, Ypsilanti, ND, Sandie (Steve) Strandlien, Pelican Rapids, MN, Robert (Deb) Fettig, Barnesville, MN, Kathy (Lloyd) Altringer, Lakeside, Calif., Darleen (Wayne) Hovland, Pelican Rapids, MN, Marcie (Duane) Duff, Jamestown, ND, James (Sonja) Fettig, Jamestown, ND; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Regina Eisenzimmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, parents, daughter, Marie, grandson, Brad, granddaughter, Gena, great grandson, Braydon, four brothers, John, Joseph, Michael, Bennidict and six sisters, Mary Ann, Caroline, Katherine, Mary, Theresa and Doris.
