Ella Jean Schwartz

Ella Jean Schwartz, 94, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown.

Ella Jean Mohr was born May 13, 1909 in Rush Center, Kansas the daughter of George Henry and Charlotte (Schneider) Mohr. She grew up and attended school in the Rush Center area. Ella Jean married Reinhold Schwartz on September 5, 1924 in Fessenden, North Dakota. She worked at the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown for over 30 years as Director of Nursing. Her lifestyle demonstrated the motto of her career in nursing which was ""helping others."" After retiring from the ND State Hospital, Ella Jean was employed at Hi-Acres Manor.

She loved to dance, go boating, accompany Reinhold on their hunting and traveling adventures. Ella Jean loved to go bird watching and birds were an important part of her life.

She was a member of the Elks in Jamestown.

Ella Jean is survived by two nephews; Loren (Viola) Heiser, Rush Center, KS and Elroy (Jackie) Heib, Apache Junction, AZ and a very special family that cared for her dearly and will miss her tremondously, Doug & Sue Fogderud and children, Skyler, Destiny, Sabrina and Sage.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2004 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
