Elma Schelske

Elma Schelske, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Monday, November 21, 2005 at Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown.

Elma Seidel was born May 10, 1920 in Dodge, North Dakota, the daughter of Adam and Barbara (Weisenberger) Seidel. She spent her early years in the Dodge area where she attended school and church.

She married Otto Allmendinger in 1940 and they resided in the Dodge area where they farmed and Otto worked for the CCC. One son, Del Allmendinger of Minneapolis, was born to that union. They relocated to Bismarck in the early 1950's where she resided until 1970 managing an apartment complex.

On January 1, 1970, Elma married Reuben Schelske in Bismarck and they made their new home in Jamestown. During the 1970's and 1980's, she and Reuben traveled extensively for Reuben's business. She enjoyed shopping and making new acquaintances while Reuben called on his clients.

They were active in the ND Farm Bureau where Reuben served as Vice-President and President.

Elma was an active member of the Jamestown Seventh-Day Adventist Church and dearly loved the church and church family. She was a faithful attendee each week.

Elma was an outstanding cook and baker and maintained an immaculate home.

She was a loving mother, step-mother, step-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Elma is survived by her husband, Reuben, Jamestown; one son, Del Allmendinger, Minneapolis; a step-son, LaVerne (Margie) Schelske, Courtenay, ND; step daughter-in-law, Valerie (Donald) Weaver, Gulf Port, MS; five grandchilden; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Esther Wenz, and Ellen Hendrickson, both of Bismarck, ND and Clara Graham, Oakland, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-son, Kenneth Schelske; four brothers, Edward, Carl, Adam and Albert; four sisters, Rose, Della, Elsie and Alvina and three brothers-in-law, Warren Graham, Herbert Wenz and Richard Hendrickson.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Dennis Kaiser and Pastor David Stuart officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2005 and 9:00 to 11:00 AM, Friday, November 25, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
