Elmer E. Moos

Elmer E. Moos, 74, of Medina, ND died Saturday, September 4, 2004 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND.

Elmer E. Moos was born February 11, 1930 in Gackle, ND the son of Edward and Lydia (Gunsch) Moos. He grew up on a farm southeast of Gackle in Finn township. The family moved to Dawson, ND and in 1950 he moved with his family to Medina and started operating heavy equipment. Elmer married Irene Roemmich. He was self-employed in the heavy construction business building roads, dams, and doing landscaping. Elmer also loved to rebuild old cars, pick-ups, and trucks. He retired in 1995. Elmer was a member of the First Congregatioanl Church in Regent, ND, served on various church boards and sang in the church choir. He belonged to Lions club, Commercial club in Regent, and Home Builders Association in Bismarck, ND.

In 1998, Elmer purchased a home in Medina. He married Darlene G. (Mayer) Schlecht on December 5, 1998. They enjoyed working together on home improvement projects and yard work. Elmer enjoyed fishing, repair work, meeting people, and learning new things. He was currently a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Medina, ND; one son, Brian Wade (Maria) Moos of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Johnna Beth (Steve) Dauthib of Dickinson, ND; two step-sons, Warren Schlecht of Bismarck, ND and Waldo Schlecht of Ryder, ND; one step-daughter, Gail Deschamps of Bismarck, ND; three grandchildren, Clarita Moos, Christopher Dauthib and Benjamin Dauthib; six step-grandchildren, Ryan Schlecht, Tyler Schlecht, Dustin Schlecht, Travis Schlecht, Derrick Deschamps, and Kayla Deschamps; and one brother-in-law, Roger Spidahl of Devils Lake, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Viola Moos Spidahl.

Funeral Service: 1:30PM, Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, ND with Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 7, 2004 from 9:00AM to 9:00PM a the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
