Elsie Greenlund Lawrence

Elsie Greenlund Lawrence, 93, Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Elsie Thorman was born March 23, 1918 at Round Top Township, Stutsman County, ND, the daughter of Harry and Marie (Lehman) Thorman. She received her education at Round Top Township school. On July 2, 1936 Elsie married Lee Greenlund and they had two sons, Donald and Ronald Greenlund. Elsie married Charles Lawrence and they moved to Minot where they lived from 1964 to 1975. She worked at the Dakota Boys Ranch in Minot. Elsie retired and moved back to Jamestown where her home has been since.

Elsie enjoyed her family and friends. Her favorite time of the year was spring so she could plant her flowers and give them loving care.

Elsie is survived by two sons, Donald (LuAnne) Greenlund, Reno, NV and Ronald (Darlene) Greenlund, Jamestown; five grandchildren, Kandi Kay (Ralph) Smith, Jim (Sandy) Greenlund, Tim (Angela) Greenlund, Terry (Rita) Greenlund and Troy Greenlund, two step-children, Gloria (Michael) Egan, Ada, MN and Gary Lawrence, Montana; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Thorman, Moorhead, MN; and one sister, Betty Johnson, Detroit Lakes, MN; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lou Schatz and Josie Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and one brother, Edward.
