Emil Wagenman, 96, Jamestown, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, North Dakota. Emil Wagenman was born August 8, 1918, in Streeter, ND, the son of Gottlieb and Katherina (Rott) Wagenman. He attended school in Millarton, ND. On December 30, 1941, Emil entered the United States Marine Corp in Minneapolis, MN. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II and at his discharge on December 29, 1945, had obtained the rank of Sergeant. Emil then worked with race horses in California and Illinois prior to returning to North Dakota to work for area farmers. On August 6, 1950, Emil married Mary Heine in Alfred, ND. They moved to Jamestown in 1952. He worked for 35 years as a long haul truck driver for Great Plains Supply Co. After his retirement, he drove school bus for the Jamestown Public Schools and a tour bus for many years. Emil moved to Fargo, ND in 2009, where he resided at Riverview Place and most recently Villa Maria. Emil was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Jamestown and the VFW. He enjoyed having coffee with his friends and spending time with his family. Emil is survived by two sons, Ken (Marla), Fargo, ND and Paul (DeAnn), West Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Lynell, New York City, NY, Jon, Nashville, TN, Tayla, West Fargo, ND and Devin, West Fargo, ND; two brothers, Gottlieb, Spokane, WA, and Walter (Ina), Winlock, WA; sisters-in-law, Delores Wagenman, Perham, MN, Lorraine Lachenmaier, Hardin, MT, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to CHI-Riverview Place or Villa Maria, or Hospice of the Red River Valley, Fargo, ND.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 2 at First Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Matt Zimmer, officiating.
Visitation: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, June 1 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery
