Emma Hust

Emma Hust, 89, Jamestown, ND passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Eventide Jamestown.
Emma Reiser was born on March 7, 1927 to Ludwig and Amelia (Retzlaff) Reiser in the Newhome area north of Woodworth, ND. They had four children of which she was the youngest. Her baptism was at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newhome, ND on April 3, 1927.
She grew up on a farm and was educated in Kidder County, where she received her eighth grade diploma in 1941. In 1942, Emma was confirmed at Evangelical Zions Church in Petersville Township, Kidder County, North Dakota.
She moved to Jamestown, ND with her parents in 1944 initiated her employment at the Vida Bakery and she later worked at the Red Owl and Super Value Grocery Stores. She married Edwin Hust on February 18, 1956 and resided in Jamestown to care for her parents. Together they raised three children: Debra, Larry and Allan. They chose Concordia Lutheran Church as their home church and Emma was a member of the bible study group and helped to make quilts for third world countries.
Emma enjoyed quilting, gardening, embroidery, listening to gospel and country music and most of all, cleaning and organizing. She supplied many babies in the community with her quilts and assisted elderly residents by doing errands and chores. Her children also benefited from her help in many areas.
She is survived by a daughter; Debra (Randall) Hanson, Littleton, CO; two sons, Larry (Kay) Hust and Allan (Marsha) Hust, both of Jamestown, as well as three grandsons, Derek Hust, Michael Hust and Matthew Hust. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; brothers, Max and Rudolph Reiser and her sister, Bertha Hust.
Memorials preferred to JRMC Hospice.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, December 2, 2016 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Tom Eckstein, officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 1 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
