Emogene Stoppleworth

Emogene (Perleberg) Stoppleworth, 97, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Emogene Perleberg was born April 6, 1922 the daughter of Robert and Amelia Perleberg. She grew up on the family farm west of Buchanan, ND. Emogene was a great lover of music and played many musical instruments. She had a special love for violins and accordions. Emogene was a writer of fiction and was known for her sense of humor. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Emogene is survived by her five children, Carole, Connie Sauer, Robert, Julie (Stoppleworth) Erickson, Lori (Stoppleworth) Buchanan and Milton Stoppleworth, Jr.; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Stoppleworth, Sr., parents Robert and Amelia Perleberg, sisters, Eleanor Krause, Lillian Cassidy and Tootie Mayer; six brothers, Arthur, Bill, George, Lloyd, Albert, Lester Perleberg and a son, James “Jimmy”.

Visitation will be 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Lucas Holsten officiating. Burial will be in Spiritwood Cemetery.
