Erna Nannenga

Erna Nannenga, 82, of Spiritwood, ND died Monday, September 6, 2004 at her home.

Erna Frieda Scheege was born October 6, 1921 in Ferstenberg Oder, Germany, the daughter of Max and Wilhelmina (Bohro) Schneege. She went to school and graduated from Ferstenberg Oder. Erna then went to work in sales and offices before entering the military during WWII for 5 months. She met and married Jacob Nannenga of Bloom township on December 27, 1948 in Jamestown, ND. They farmed in Stutsman County and made their home in Spiritwood, ND for 53 years milking cows, raising feeder cattle, and growing small grains. Erna loved her garden, sewing, and crocheting. She made sweaters and dresses for her sister in Germany and other relatives. Erna was President of PTA and Homemakers clubs. She was also involved in her Birthday club. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

Erna is survived by two sons, Carl (Shelley) Nannenga of Jamestown, ND and James (Jackie) Nannenga of Spirtitwood, ND; five grandchildren; sister-in-law, Christine Wagner of Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law, Miles (Donna) Nannenga of Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Carl; two sisters, Dorothia and Renate Schneege; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Funeral Service: 10:30AM, Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.

Visitation: Tuesday, September 7, 2004 from 1:00PM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 8:30PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
