Ernest Moser

Ernest Moser, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly of Medina, North Dakota died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Ernest was born October 15, 1922 in Medina, the son of Carl P. and Lydia (Hoffman) Moser. He grew up and attended school in Medina. On December 16, 1942 Ernest entered the US Navy in Jamestown and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 24, 1945 in Minneapolis. On May 6, 1946 Ernest married Helen Lorenz in Thermopolis, Wyoming. He worked for Thermopolis Diamond Drilling Company until the fall of 1946. They moved to Fargo, ND where he worked in the Fargo area. In March 1947, Ernest started school at the Molar Barber College and in May 1947 they moved to Medina and bought the Medina Barber Shop. He began his barber career on October 1, 1947, serving his apprenticeship under Ben Betsch. In 1972 they started the Stutsman County Sanitation Service and owned and operated it until 1988. He also drove school bus for Medina Public School. After 51 years of cutting hair, Ernest retired in 1998. They continued to live in Medina. Ernest entered Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in 2002.

Ernest is survived by his wife, Helen of Medina; five children, Donald (Connie) Moser, Medina, Jean Moser and Kenneth Moser, both of Fargo, Linda Moser Eicholtz and Sherry (Cliff) Meadows, both of Medina; five grandchildren; Hope (Andy) Heller, Shannon Moser, Dawn (Eldroy) Salinas, Russell Eicholtz and Ryan Moser; three great-grandchildren; Megan Meza, Caitlin Meza and Keisha Salinas; three brothers, Oscar, Leon and Albert and two sisters, Leah Grenz and Alvina Munker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Raymond, Ted and Edwin.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, March 20, 2006 at United Methodist Church, Medina with Chaplain David Fisher and Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
