Ernest E. Peplinski, 78, Ashland Township, near Courtenay, North Dakota died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his home.
Ernest ""Ernie"" was born October 8, 1932 near Buchanan, ND, the son of Alexander F. and Olga M. (Sund) Peplinski. He was raised on the family farm in Deerlake Township and received his education in rural Buchanan schools. Ernie served in the US Army from January 1954 to October 1955. On December 10, 1959 Ernie married Lois Greenstein in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He farmed and raised cattle in the Courtenay area all his life. He also worked and drove truck for area farmers.
Ernie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and visiting with friends.
Ernie is survived by his wife, Lois, Courtenay, ND; one son, Edward (Jennifer) Peplinski, Jamestown; four sisters, Verna Brooks, Grand Forks, ND, Florence Mogck and Freida Schrade, both of Fargo, ND, and Clarice Diane Quaschnick, Deadwood, SD; one brother, Clarence (Connie) Peplinski, Douglas, WY and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Edward and two sisters, Arlene Williamson and Frances Fisher.
