Ernest ""Ernie"" Schutt, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, January 7, 2005 at his home.
Ernie was born in Stutsman County, North Dakota on October 21, 1921, the son of Gust and Martha (Foesch) Schutt. He attended grade and high school at Eldridge, ND. After graduation he served in the 95th Infantry Division of the US Army during WW II in the European Theatre of Operations from 1942-1945. Ernie married Levon Scholz Kamletz in 1944. He farmed in Eldridge township until moving to Jamestown where he was employed at Mellands, Inc., Haybuster Manufacturing, Walter Maas and Assoc. and Holiday Inn Express throughout the years.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, life member of the V.F.W. and American Legion and past president and lifetime member of the Jamestown Eagles #2337.
Ernie is survived by two sons, Greg Schutt, Rutland, VT and Jeff (Carole) Schutt, Jamestown; three daughters, Gerri Yeske, Sioux Falls, SD, Jan (Jerry) Bohnsack and Deb (Clarence) Marsolek, both of Courtenay, ND; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a special friend, Margaret Ripley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Art, Ervin & Fred.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, January 10, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Sunday, January 9, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Eldridge Cemetery, Eldridge, North Dakota
