Ervin Kautzman

Ervin Kautzman, 75, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at his home.

Ervin ""Erv"" was born October 6, 1932 in Sykeston, North Dakota, the son of Raphael and Bertha (Neumiller) Kautzman. He grew up in the Sykeston and Pingree, ND area and received his education in the Sykeston schools. Erv served in the National Guard Reserves. On December 12, 1953 Erv married Perletta Guenther in Carrington, ND.

In 1955 he started to work for the City of Jamestown and worked for them 42 years, retiring in 1997. Erv was the supervisor of the Jamestown City Landfill for many years. Perletta died on July 6, 1982. Erv married Joyce Krueger on November 23, 1984 in Jamestown. She died in 1997.

Erv was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown; the Jamestown Eagles; the Dakota Anglers; and the American Public Works Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all of Erv's special friends for their help.

Erv is survived by three children, Melodie (Jon) Goehner, Jamestown, Janell (Don) Mueller, Bismarck, ND and Steven (Lisa) Kautzman, Rapid City, SD; five step-children, Sandy (Marlin) Hovde, Perham, MN, Rick (Deb) Krueger, Gillette, WY, Dale (Cheryl) Krueger, Hope, ND, Deb (Ron) Dwelle and James Krueger, both of Jamestown; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Kautzman, Pingree, ND and Roger (Gloria) Kautzman, Sumner, WA and two sisters, Caroline (Loren) Elsner, Marion, ND and Linda (Jeff) Fuchs, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives and one brother in infancy.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Rich Fitzer officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 5:30 PM, Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 5:30 PM, Friday, November 23, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
