Esther (Diegel) Fandrich

Esther Fandrich passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the age of 91 at Eventide Jamestown. She was born on March 30, 1926, in Burnstad, North Dakota to Johannes and Elizabeth Diegel. She was the youngest of their 11 children that grew to adulthood. She also had 3 brothers and sisters that died as infants. On June 22, 1947, she married Bernard Fandrich. Their life together involved many relocations as they lived in Wishek, Dawson, Buffalo, Davenport, Hillsboro, Fredonia, Kulm, and Jamestown. Most of her married life was spent in Kulm, 31 years, and Jamestown, 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cooking and her favorite pastime was playing cards. Due to declining health and the inability to live alone, she moved to Eventide Jamestown in 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard in 2009, her oldest son Stanley in 2009 and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her four sons: James (Mary Louise), Brooklyn Park, MN; Jeffrey (Heidi), Litchville, ND; Mark (Kara), Plymouth, MN; and Perry, Troutdale, OR; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be one hour before service at church. Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Jamestown on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Kulm.
