Esther Gohman, 85, of Berlin, ND, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Oakes Community Hospital.

Esther was born on May 10, 1927, in Streeter, ND, the daughter of Fred and Rosina (Schnabel) Stroh. She was raised in Streeter, and then moved with her family to rural LaMoure, ND in 1935 and attended school in Grand Rapids, ND. Esther married Douglas Gohman on March 20, 1948 and they made their home and started a family at the family farm near Berlin.

Esther enjoyed farm life with helping with chores, gardening, and especially flower gardens all around the house. She also enjoyed embroidering, crafts, making quilts, and taking care of family, grandkids, and great grandkids.

She was a long-time member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, and the Birthday Club.

Esther is survived by her husband, Douglas, Berlin; five children, Brenda Radermacher, Monango, ND, Steve, West Fargo, ND, Mike, LaMoure, ND, Don (Jodi), Brandon, SD, and Julie Ireland, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by one son, Scott; parents, Fred and Rosina Stroh; six brothers, Jacob, Adam, Arthur, Theodore, Alvin, and Reinhold; three sisters, Eva Dathe, Ruth Bertsch, and Martha Wendt; and son-in-law, Gene Radermacher.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
