Esther (Hauf) Gust

Esther Gust, 91, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Woodworth, ND, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Esther was born October 7, 1929, in the New Home area, Lowery Township, rural Woodworth, the daughter of Michael and Natalie (Gleisner) Hauf.  She was raised and attended school there and was confirmed August 6, 1944 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Pettibone, ND.  Esther’s confirmation verse was Colossians 3:17.  She helped with the farming on their home place until 1969 when she moved to Jamestown and worked until 1975 when she was married to Edward Gust at Concordia Lutheran Church.  Esther enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading and making quilt tops for the church.  She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Esther is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents; brothers, Alfred and Emil; and two infant siblings.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Tom Eckstein officiating.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral at the church.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
