Esther Hofmann

Esther M. Hofmann, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly of Medina, ND, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Rock of Ages in Jamestown.

Esther Reich was born July 4, 1925 on the family farm south of Medina, the daughter of August and Katie (Lang) Reich. She received her education in rural Medina schools. On July 22, 1945 Esther married Rudolph E. Hofmann in Streeter. They lived and farmed south of Medina all their married lives. Rudolph died September 23, 1987. Esther moved to Jamestown in September 2008, and became a resident of Rock of Ages.

Esther enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, traveling and visiting with her friends.

Esther is survived by three sons, Reinhold of Shakopee, MN, Gordon (Kathy) of Welch, MN, and Larry Lee (Velma) of Jamestown; one daughter, Shirley (George) Dahl, Timber Lakes, SD; five grandchildren, Shane Hofmann, Rex Dahl, Kimberly Dahl, Heidi Hofmann and Grant Hofmann; one great-grandchild; one sister, Inez (Harry) Ruff, Streeter, ND, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Emil.
